Sustainable Impact Solutions for Improved Livelihood 2019 - 2024 Programme

Sustainable Impact Solutions for Improved Livelihood programme focuses on creating sustainable opportunities and avenues through capacity building, frequent sensitization, and skill training from our facilitators and partners. The SISIL program is designed and co-created to tackle the everyday challenges of disadvantaged youth and equip them with sustainable guidance that they can use to fulfil their set goals and aspirations. The program also engages our beneficiaries in practices that are not detrimental to the environment. We believe that when the youth are capacitated, they are able to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country by providing for their families and creating business ventures.

Green Skills Recovery Program

Green Skills Recovery Program - GSRP

UNIYIA recognizes that there is a huge unemployment gap among youth in most African countries and the impact of COVID-19 was merciless on youth and marginalised groups. Hence the need to propose solid interventions to curb the high rates of unemployment regionally and at national levels to meet global demands and standards. With the GSRP, UNIYIA would be training and capacitating youths in marginalised communities with modern skill sets they would need to thrive in an ever-growing and changing technologically advanced economy to meet the demands of a global market. Beneficiaries of the Green Skills Recovery Program would be trained in digital skills which will comprise basic and advanced computer skills, coding, and remote working tools; and go through a series of mentorship to help equip them with soft skills in leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Green Youth Club - GYC

The UNIYIA Green Youth Club program is designed to engage and capacitate students in middle and higher education in the global effort for climate justice, as well as empower them with the requisite knowledge and skills to act to be agents of positive change today. This initiative will serve as an innovative hub or platform where students will come together to learn, engage, compete and take actions to address environmental concerns within their communities and contribute toward the achievement of the United Nations SDGs.

UNIYIA Webinar Series

UNIYIA Webinar Series

As part of UNIYIA’s capacity-building agenda, we host online events to discuss youth engagement in addressing environmental and societal issues. Our research findings indicated that youth in Africa are mostly concerned about education and training, technology, health and environmental issues. It is upon this that most of our programs are uniquely designed to find solutions to topmost youth issues while protecting the environment we live in. We leverage digital tools and platforms to implement monthly or quarterly series that matter most to youth in Africa.
