UNIYIA Webinar Series

The current global pandemic of COVID-19 has resulted in new challenges in addition to the already problem of inactive youth participation in solving societal issues and climate justice. Countries all over the world have imposed internal and international movement restrictions to contain the spread of the virus, limiting the voices and actions of young people, especially those from the global south.

Taking into consideration the inter-relatedness of these challenges facing the youth (young people between the ages of 15 and 35 years) and the need for cross-sectoral policies and programmes that attend to the needs of youth in a holistic manner, and convinced that Africa’s the greatest resource is its youthful population and that through their active and full participation, African youth can surmount the challenges that lie ahead.

The UNIYIA webinar series will provide active participation of young people around the world, mostly from the African region, partners, and relevant stakeholders the opportunity to learn and discuss recent youth and environmental issues and opportunities. Youth experts will be invited to share their experiences and engage with our audience on how lives and society can be improved considering today’s challenges we face.
