United Youth Initiative for Africa (UNIYIA), an esteemed Ghanaian youth-led nonprofit organization, recently won a Social Impact Grant at the just ended African Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference in Kigali, Rwanda.

UNIYIA was selected as part of the top 10 Social Change Leaders across Africa to receive $2500 to support their initiative. This grant, which is the first-ever received by the organization, will be used to fund the second phase of their skills training initiative for youth and women farmers in Kwasi Komfo in the Aboakwa South Municipality of the Eastern region of Ghana. This initiative aims to promote sustainable productivity and profitability for the Ghanaian cocoa sector, without losing focus on gender-based issues, financial literacy, and deepening beneficiaries' knowledge of climate-smart cocoa production. This scheme is a part of the AgroIDOL intervention of UNIYIA’s flagship program, the Sustainable Impact Solutions for Improved Livelihood Programme (SISIL).

The Partnership and Engagement Officer, Nadia Owusu, and the Project And Marketing Officer of UNIYIA, Dwayn Ocansey received the Social Impact Grant on behalf of the organization, which comes with 1-year guidance and mentorship.
